Ambrotype Portrait Black Americana Madam Victorian Photograph on Glass Plate
This portrait appears to be a female Afro Americana / other descent?  Dress code is 1880 - 1920 period.  She is wearing spectacles and has a dignified smile.
I believe this is probably early African / Black /Americana?  She may possible be a madam of the oldest profession?
After careful examination and consultation with other collectors I feel that this is African Americana, although others may disagree.  Regardless the piece is quite stunning....
Size Portrait: 14 cm x 10 cm x 0.8 cm, Weight 254 grams
Condition:  The plate has a chip on the bottom left of the piece (See photo 6).  Photos 9/10 are taken up against the light.
There is some writing on the back that looks like "gals" the piece came in this condition.
