IN EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR AGE!  A WELL CARVED / PAINTED NATIVE AMERICAN COTTONWOOD KATSINA CARVING - EXPECTED WEAR FOR AGE TO PAINT/FEATHERS. HE STANDS ON HIS OWN (SEE PICS).  THERE IS A
NO NOTABLE DAMAGE! NO LOSS TO LIMBS OR BODY. EXCELLENT CONDITION FOR AGE!!!!!

THIS KACHINA IS PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE PUEBLOS, THIS ZUNI VERSION IS CALLED THE NEWEKWE CLOWN. THE CLOWNS REPRESENT THE SACRED AND THE PROFANE TO THE PUEBLO PEOPLE. CLOWNS OFTERN MOCK OTHERS, CAN BE RUDE, YET ALSO BE PROFOUND TEACHERS, THEY CAN ALSO BE RUNNERS AND HELP BRING THE MONSOON SUMMER RAINS DOWN THE WASHES.
THE ZUNI LIVE DIRECTLY TO THE EAST OF THE HOPI. AN
